Sunrise Terrace was designed to provide a safe, structured, home-like environment with specialized care and services for individuals diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.
Our goal is to develop an individualized program of care that addresses physical and emotional changes, encouraging residents to achieve their maximum level of independent functioning.
Resident care at Sunrise Terrace is based on the psychosocial care model, rather than the standard medical model of care. This means that our residents receive the sensitive care they require throughout the course of this progressive illness.
The dignity of our residents is our priority at Sunrise Terrace, and their sense of self-esteem and well-being is encouraged to its fullest potential.
Our compassionate and dedicated staff work individually with each resident to help them overcome the frustrations associated with Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementias.
A Loved One’s Involvement
Sunrise Terrace’s programs reflect the residents’ unique needs and abilities, incorporating familiar aspects of their lives. The involvement of family, friends, and the community is an integral component of the care and programming in Sunrise Terrace. Through supportive services such as education and counseling, families and significant others can continue to actively participate in the lives of their loved ones.

DINING ROOM
Nutrition Services and Social Engagement
Mealtime at Valley View Rehab & Nursing Center is an excellent opportunity to promote social interaction and friendship within our community. We offer several dining locations to provide residents with a variety of options within our community, catering to their individual needs and preferences. Residents are invited to dine in the main dining room, where cooking demonstrations are held during meal service. Our wait staff takes the residents’ orders and delivers each meal to the table from a portable hot buffet. Our Nutrition Services Department provides innovative solutions and offers top-notch services, helping us stay up to date with ever-changing nutritional information.
Special programs are available for individuals with nutritionally challenging needs. A host of programs designed to address weight loss, cognitive impairment, and implement solutions that promote good nutrition are other key facets of our dining program.
We take pride in ensuring resident satisfaction during mealtime. Our dietitian meets with each resident upon arrival to assess their individual needs and preferences. A regular pattern of review confirms that optimal nutritional status is being maintained. The Dietitian is available for consultations with residents and family members at any time the need arises. Our Nutrition Services works closely with our Therapeutic Recreation Department in providing a wide array of food and snack choices at frequently held social events.
Residents’ input into the Nutrition Services program is valued at Valley View Rehab & Nursing Center. A resident committee focused on dining meets monthly to help select menus for upcoming holidays and special occasions held at our community. Visiting family and friends are encouraged to dine with us. Valley View Rehab & Nursing Center offers a private Family Dining Room, which is available for family gatherings.
